March 2023 Meeting Notes

Not sure what was going on last night but we had our smallest attendance to date.  Sure hope everyone is okay!!!!

Nonetheless, the six of us, plus Angie, had a wonderful evening and left feeling so relaxed I almost fell asleep on the way home.  Angie is a Social Worker who is semi-retired, now helping a few clients virtually.  Her own grief journey is remarkable for the loss of her son and two spouses.  Angie found her way to grief yoga as she searched for ways to take back some control over her life, her body and mind.  Following intensive training, she now helps groups such as ours with sessions.  (Angie is also a member of the Eastside TCF group)

We began, as usual, with intros.  Angie then took a little time to explain grief yoga, the connection between mind and body- similar to what we learned from Stacy Sims.  She then led us through a series of exercises, interspersed with everyone sharing their thoughts.  Time flew by and it was quickly time to straighten up and head home.  We thank Angie from the bottom of our hearts- it was truly a peaceful, relaxing experience and it is always good to learn different ways to calm our mind and soothe our spirits.

Our dinner this month will be the 4th Thursday, as March has 5 Thursdays.  We have yet to select a restaurant so watch for future email with that information.  Additionally, if you didn’t already know this, we do have a web page (www.tcfcincinnatinorth.org) newly designed by Kelly Lawson.  All the notes I send out, our 2023 calendar and updates are included there so if you are not one to read your emails you can always check the website.  Huge thanks to Kelly for designing and updating our new web home.

I realize some of you would prefer text messages, but please know we have over 100 people on our list and it would be impossible for me to send text messages.  If you can’t seem to get to emails or the website, know that we meet the 1st Tuesday of every month except December, which is replaced by our 2nd Sunday Candle Lighting Memorial.  The only reasons we wouldn’t have a meeting on the 1st Tuesday is the rare occasion a legal holiday falls on the date or dangerous weather conditions—in both cases you would be notified by email.

Stay well- enjoy the sunshine and hope to see you soon.
