December Dinner Out

Hi all-

Thursday night 8 of us got together at Roosters- which I discovered was not only the name of a men’s  hair salon- and had a really nice evening.  We came so close to canceling this month-  all the holiday stuff going on, the Candle Lighting just prior, long lists of things we need to get done….but we decided to go ahead and it turned out to be a good decision.  Having 8 people changes the communication at the table, right?   Instead of having to stand up and wave your arms to talk with the person at the far end of the very long table, we could all hear one another and it was a nice combination of one group chat and multiple small chats- all happening at the same time.  I was wishing we had subtitles but managed to keep up.

I think the message here is- even when you think the very last thing you want to do is get dressed, find someone to watch the kids – should that be your case—drive all the way over to wherever we are meeting and get home in time to go to bed….even when that is what you are thinking, making the effort and dragging yourself out can turn out to be just what the doctor ordered.  (I might have been referring to myself…). Yes- sometimes we do just need to crawl in bed with a pint of Ben & Jerry’s, (again, myself) but sometimes we need to give ourselves a little push- it may or may not go well but each time we do this it gets a little easier.

Please remember to take extra good care of yourselves over the next couple of weeks!   We are always just an email away should you just need a safe landing place for a few minutes.  See you on January 3rd!

To those who were under the weather and couldn’t be with us- I hope you are feeling better!

Lastly- a huge kudos to Kelly L. for redesigning our website and find a new home for it that will save our chapter money!  She is amazing- check it out:  www.tcfcincinnatinorth.org
